My Newgrounds was linked to my school account and the school ended up changing my password so I couldn't gain any access to my account. I ended up deleting or ditching the old account.
In my personal experience, I have found that most people in a secretary position in school are extremely forthcoming if you approach them with kindness (and they are not currently drowning in work). Even if they have no access to the schools IT (a likely scenario) they can at least call over the teacher responsible for it during recess.
If you take your old school student card with you, even a teacher who doesn't know you personally would probably be okay with setting it up so you can log into NG one single time from a school PC (while they watch) and switch the account to your new email.
If you are expecting difficulties... IT-people (as well as secretaries) love homemade cake (or cookies). If you're not much of a baker, bakery-bought marble cake or yeast cake sprinkled with sugar will also suffice.

So to put it simply: after I can recover as much artwork as I can, I will continue making artwork but very inconsistently and not very often.
